{"id":349464,"date":"2021-08-09T06:01:34","date_gmt":"2021-08-08T20:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=349464"},"modified":"2021-08-09T06:01:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-08T20:01:34","slug":"student-loan-pause-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/student-loan-pause-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Student loan pause extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong>\u2014The U.S.\u00a0Department of Education announced\u00a0Friday a final extension of the\u00a0pause on student loan\u00a0repayment,\u00a0interest, and collections until Jan. 31, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The department said in a statement it believes this additional time\u00a0and\u00a0a definitive end date will allow borrowers to plan for the resumption of payments\u00a0and reduce the risk of delinquency and defaults after restart.
