(Contributed photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sports club Ol\u2019Aces held its inaugural O\u2019Aces Alumni Golf Charity Classic last July 31 with Shirlyn Jones winning the double Peoria competition at the Saipan Vegas Golf Resort &#038; Slot Club.<br \/>\nSofia Heras came in second, while many time CNMI national golfer and 2022 Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee chair, Marco Peter, completed the Top. 3. The rest of the Top 10 was made up of Luis \u201cJun\u201d Iguel, Tom Tebuteb, Carl Hocog, K-Joe, Ed Kapileo, Darion Jones, and Jerald Guerrero. A total of 37 golfers took part in the tourney, held in the CNMI\u2019s oldest golf course.<\/p>\n<p>In the closet to the pin Carl Hocog won in hole No. 1, while Luis Iguel Jr. and Leo Ruluked were without peers in holes No. 2 and 5, respectively. Tony Satur took the plum in hole No. 6, while Department of Fire and Emergency Management Services Commissioner Dennis Mendiola got the prize in hole No. 7.  Ned Norita out-clubbed everyone to win the longest drive in hole No. 9. <\/p>\n<p>Longtime Ol\u2019Aces coach Eli Rangamar said the O\u2019Aces Alumni Golf Charity Classic marked the 46th anniversary of Ol\u2019Aces club which was established back in 1975. The event also honored the Original Ol\u2019Aces youth squad which featured nine members with coach Tony Satur and founder\/managers Tom Saures and the late Joe Limes. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cPlaques were awarded to the above mentioned individuals. The event was supposed to have kicked off its 45th year anniversary last year but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event got postponed. Also honored for their contributions to the club where the late Jess Wabol and Bob Coldeen for their influence, role, and contribution to the club\u2019s Little League baseball and basketball programs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The original members of the Ol\u2019Aces basketball team are guard\/forward Joe A. Lizama, guard Ray A. Tebuteb, center Basillio W. Odoshi, forward Ambrose T. Ogumoro, forward Louie Tilipao, guard Manny L. Seman, guard Dave L. Laniyo, center forward Rick I. Rangamar, and forward Martin W. Iginoef.<\/p>\n<p>Rangamar said the funds collected will go toward the club\u2019s purchase of sports equipment, uniforms, and the conduct of upcoming scheduled events.
