{"id":349546,"date":"2021-08-09T06:05:03","date_gmt":"2021-08-08T20:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=349546"},"modified":"2021-08-09T06:05:03","modified_gmt":"2021-08-08T20:05:03","slug":"8-more-test-positive-for-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/8-more-test-positive-for-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"8 more test positive for COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eight more arriving travelers have tested positive for COVID-19, adding to the CNMI\u2019s 206 total confirmed cases of COVID since March 28, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>All eight new cases were identified by travel screening and confirmed as positive through arrival testing and fifth-day testing on Aug. 4 and through arrival testing and fifth-day testing on Aug. 5, according to a press statement from the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. Last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune separately confirmed with CHCC chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a on Sunday that none of the eight were from South Korea, which has a \u201cTravel Bubble\u201d arrangement with the CNMI that allows Korean citizens to enter the CNMI as tourists.<\/p>\n<p>The eight have been quarantined and are being actively monitored, and CHCC\u2019s Communicable Disease Investigation\/ Inspection team have already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the eight individuals. <\/p>\n<p>In related news, effective Sept. 30, First Hawaiian Bank, Bank of Hawaii, and Territorial Savings Bank will require its employees to show proof of full vaccination, or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing. As part of the new policy, these financial institutions will cover the costs of weekly COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated employees. <\/p>\n<p>Employees are able to submit requests for vaccine exemptions due to legitimate religious or medical reasons.
