(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)

Team Kio continues to lord in over in the 2021 Island-wide Men’s BudLight Basketball League after thumping Team CNMI, 112-67, Wednesday night at the Tinian Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.

The undefeated team blasted CNMI right from the get-go after building a 20-point lead, 32-12, after the first quarter thanks to the 9 points of Dustin Sablan. He then spread the wealth in the second quarter as six different players made it to the scoreboard in the period, as Kio remained comfortably in front, 55-26, at the break.

Robert Reyes then shone for Kio in the third, unloading 10 of his 29 total points to give his team a 28-point margin, 79-51, heading into the fourth and final quarter.

The Fat Lady already sung as the payoff period got underway and the only thing left undecided was the final score. Reyes fired another 8 points and Heinz Cabrera and Lucio Sanchez added 6 apiece for good measure as Kio rolled to the 45-point carnage.

A total of six Kio players finished in double figures in the win, its eight straight against zero losses. Dennis Borja led a parade of Borjas in scoring for CNMI with 19 markers. The team is now at 2-2 in the league standings.

In the second game, Vinny Untalan and Wesley Walker combined for 37 points to help Rampage to an 87-40 win over Ko’Bees. It was the eighth win in nine tries for Rampage, while the loss dropped Ko’Bees to 2-7.

First Game

Kio 112 – Reyes 29, D.
