In Guam, the island\u2019s Joint Information Center announced the island\u2019s 196th COVID-19-related death and reported that there are currently 66 individuals in Guam who are hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 66, 35 are unvaccinated, the JIC reported.<\/p>\n<p>CHCC said yesterday that the CNMI\u2019s latest case was identified by travel screening and confirmed positive through arrival testing on Sept. 29. The traveler has since been quarantined and is being actively monitored, and CHCC\u2019s contact tracing team has already begun reaching out to those who were in closest contact with the traveler. CHCC also said yesterday that there are currently no active COVID-19-related hospitalizations.<\/p>\n<p>Guam\u2019s 196th COVID-19-related death was an unvaccinated 59-year-old male with underlying health conditions. He was a known positive case and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Sept. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Guam Gov. Leon Guerrero said that every life lost to COVID-19 is \u201cone too many,\u201d and that Guam must use all the tools available to the island to combat the virus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach person that we lose to COVID-19 is one too many, and our hearts go out to their families and friends during their time of grieving.
