(IT&#038;E)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>IT&#038;E has completed the installation of two cellular sites on a remote part of Tinian to bring voice and high-speed data coverage to Suicide Cliff and the surrounding area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to an IT&#038;E news release yesterday, it said that work officially began on Aug. 10 and was completed on Aug. 17, with the cellular sites supported by underground fiber running the length of the approximately 3.5-mile road leading to the cliff top. The sites now provide coverage along the road and up to the monument.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team took on the challenges bringing coverage to a very remote area, from securing the necessary permits and permissions to acing the logistical planning,\u201d said IT&#038;E chief executive officer Jim Oehlerking. \u201cThe success of this project is a testament to the dedication of our people to deliver connections that matter for our community. I commend the team for their hard work and am pleased to be able to bring this service to visitors and more of our subscribers in Tinian.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the installation of the new cellular sites, the area had no voice or data coverage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re happy to be able to step in to meet the need of any visitors in the area to be reachable and able to call for assistance when needed,\u201d said IT&#038;E general manager Rose Soledad. \u201cAnticipating and meeting the needs of our community is at the core of what we do.
