{"id":354429,"date":"2021-10-25T06:00:29","date_gmt":"2021-10-24T20:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=354429"},"modified":"2021-10-25T06:00:29","modified_gmt":"2021-10-24T20:00:29","slug":"no-tricks-just-treats-at-the-nmi-museum-on-halloween","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/no-tricks-just-treats-at-the-nmi-museum-on-halloween\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018No Tricks, Just Treats\u2019 at the NMI Museum on Halloween"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rotary Club of Saipan and Rotaract Club of Saipan, in collaboration with the NMI Museum of History &#038; Culture, will be hosting a Halloween event called \u201cNo Tricks, Just Treats\u201d on Oct. 31 from 5pm to 9pm on NMI Museum grounds. The event will feature a movie night inside the museum, various live performances, contests, and more. <\/p>\n<p>Joann T. Aquino, who is director of community service for the Rotary Club of Saipan, hopes to see the community come out and enjoy the Halloween festivities. \u201cWe\u2019ve coordinated with several non-governmental organizations, businesses, agencies, and programs to pass out candies and treats from the newly constructed huts on the NMI Museum grounds,\u201d she said in an email message Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>There will be many festivities inside and outside the NMI Museum, Aquino said. There will be a Night at the Museum movie night indoors, while there will be contests and live music and dance performances outdoors. <\/p>\n<p>Contests include a pumpkin pie eating contest and a \u201cSpooktacular Costume Contest.\u201d Live entertainment for the night includes dance performances by the Saipan Music &#038; Dance Studio, live music by Marvin Deleon Guerrero as MG Muzik Productions, and magic acts from magicians Neil Fama and Joel Salvosa. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_354431\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-354431\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Joann-T.-Aquino-mug-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Joann T. Aquino\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-354431\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-354431\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aquino<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There will be an inflated bounce house, slide, and \u201cover a dozen spooktacular outdoor inflatables\u201d ranging from 5 feet to 12 feet and some as long as 10 feet for eventgoers to enjoy and take pictures with, Aquino added. <\/p>\n<p>Happening at the same time across the street at Sugar King Park is the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office\u2019s own Halloween event, and Aquino invites the community to visit that event as well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would also like to encourage families and children to visit the Sugar King Park across the street from the museum to get some candies from [the Marianas Visitors Authority] and the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office, check out the various food vendors that will be opened that evening, as well as a mini haunted tent provided by MVA,\u201d said Aquino.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to providing a safe and fun environment for everyone.
