One COVID-19 patient in the CNMI has been hospitalized and that two incoming travelers have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the CNMI\u2019s total to 291, according to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. over the weekend.<\/p>\n
In Guam, its Joint Information Center reported Friday the island\u2019s 227th COVID-19-related death. <\/p>\n
CHCC reported Sunday that one patient, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 last week, has been hospitalized. The patient is currently receiving treatment and is being monitored, and CHCC said Sunday that no further information will be disclosed to preserve patient privacy. <\/p>\n
CHCC also reported that the CNMI\u2019s two most recent positives were identified by travel screening and confirmed positive through arrival testing on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23, respectively. Both have since been quarantined and monitored and CHCC\u2019s contact tracing team has reaching out to those who were in closest contact with the two individuals. <\/p>\n
In Guam, the island\u2019s 227th COVID-19-related death was an unvaccinated 77-year-old female with underlying health conditions. She tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 16 and was pronounced dead at the Guam Regional Medical City on Oct. 22. <\/p>\n
As of Oct. 23, the JIC reported that there are currently 54 individuals in Guam who are hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 54, 33 are unvaccinated, 19 are vaccinated, and two are ineligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
