{"id":355601,"date":"2021-11-11T06:01:33","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T20:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=355601"},"modified":"2021-11-11T06:01:33","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T20:01:33","slug":"six-more-covid-19-deaths-in-guam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/six-more-covid-19-deaths-in-guam\/","title":{"rendered":"Six more COVID-19 deaths in Guam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Information Center in Guam reported Tuesday the island\u2019s six most recent COVID-19-related deaths, including two deaths from September and October that were previously unreported. <\/p>\n<p>The JIC also reported Tuesday that 38 individuals in Guam are hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the hospitalized individuals aged 12 and older, 18 are vaccinated and 19 are unvaccinated. One individual aged 11 or younger is hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>Guam\u2019s 250th COVID-19-related death was an unvaccinated 92-year-old female with underlying health conditions. She was a known positive case and was pronounced dead at the Guam Regional Medical City on Sept. 11. <\/p>\n<p>The 251st was an unvaccinated 70-year-old male with underlying health conditions. He tested positive for COVID-19 on Oct. 10 and was pronounced dead at GRMC on Oct. 24. <\/p>\n<p>The 252nd was an unvaccinated 72-year-old male with underlying health conditions. he tested positive on Nov. 1 and was pronounced dead at the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam on Nov. 5. <\/p>\n<p>The 253rd was a fully vaccinated 81-year-old female with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on Oct. 30 and was pronounced dead at GRMC on Nov. 8. <\/p>\n<p>The 254th was a fully vaccinated 72-year-old male with underlying health conditions. He tested positive on Oct. 29 and was pronounced dead at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Nov. 8. <\/p>\n<p>The 255th was an unvaccinated 74-year-old female with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on Nov. 9 and was pronounced dead at GMH on Nov. 9. <\/p>\n<p>In a statement she provided to the JIC, Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said Tuesday that Guam\u2019s efforts against COVID-19 \u201cwill not waver\u201d and advised the Guam community to go back to the basics in terms of mitigation measures against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Guam Lt. Gov.] Josh [Tenorio], [first gentleman] Jeff [Cook], and I are deeply saddened with each report of losses from our community. We grieve with the island and pray the memories of them bring solace in these difficult times,\u201d said Leon Guerrero. \u201cEven though we remain in the clutches of the COVID-19 virus, our efforts will not waver.
