The course is super hilly and over 200 feet of elevation gain over 5 kilometers,\u201d said the 20-year-old junior.<\/p>\n<p>Tan said the conditions were especially cold and windy that she had to wear gloves during the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was pretty tired going into it because it was a long season of cross country and Thanksgiving was coming up so that\u2019s all I was looking forward to,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Coming in second to Tan was Audrey Christley in 22.23, while completing the Top 3 among the women was Anika Snyder. The former ran along the Saipan Beach Road Pathway, while the latter completed her course in Scotland.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_356604\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-356604\" style=\"width: 125px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-356604 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Tang-125x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-356604\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tang<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tang was surprised that he again finished first among the men, completing the 5K virtual race in 21.44 while running from the American Memorial Park to the Gov. Eloy S. Inos Peace Park last Nov. 20.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels great as I wasn\u2019t expecting to win two in a row!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He hopes to top an actual face-to-face race soon and not to be known as a runner who only tops virtual ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI prefer face-to-face running because there\u2019s more interaction and more fun compared to virtual. It\u2019s boring and lonely. But since there\u2019s COVID-19 in the community I just have run by myself for now. I do hope the community spread slows down,\u201d said the 15-year-old student from Marianas High School.<\/p>\n<p>Sildrey Velorio finished runner-up in 23.50 while running on Saipan with Erico Castro placed third in 23:58 tackling the race in San Diego, California.
