Four of those shots from downtown came in the fourth quarter, allowing Island Manpower to turn a shaky 80-79 lead at the end of the third to a 98-87 advantage, going into the final four minutes of the match. White Capalad knocked in two of those triples in back-to-back fashion and scored 8 straight points to give Island Manpower enough cushion.
Docomo, which won last season’s championship against San Antonio, tried to mount a comeback, but failed to do so, as it missed several attempts from beyond the arc and the 15-foot line.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-35724" alt="Island Manpower’s Ed Pangelinan escapes with a fastbreak layup against Docomo Pacific’s James Villacrusis during the fourth quarter of their game in the DL Corp. caging last Tuesday night at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
