The goal is to train 1,000 individuals over the next six months in life saving CPR.<\/p>\n<p>The training is free and takes just 60 minutes to learn. Red Cross certified presenters will schedule free trainings with priority given to community groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s easy to learn and increases the chances of someone surviving a cardiac emergency. Most often a trained family member or bystander who knows these basic skills can make a big difference when someone stops breathing\u201d said Mable Glenn, NMI board chair.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/CPR-pix.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-357318\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/CPR-pix-1024x531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"498\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The chapter recently kicked off this important safety program with NMI Judiciary. During their professional development workshop, over 80 individuals were trained to use these life-saving skills.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about this program or register your group for training, call the NMI Chapter at 234-3459 for more information.<\/p>\n<p>More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside a hospital each year.
