(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)

The Tan Siu Lin Foundation has provided over $11,000 cash and in-kind donation to McDonald’s Guam and Saipan in support of the inaugural Ronald McDonald House of Charities Golf Tournament.

The donation is part of the TSL Foundation’s commitment as diamond sponsor of the golf fundraising tournament. McDonald’s Guam and Saipan owner Marcia Ayuyu received the donation in time for this Saturday’s competition that will be held at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.

“I would like to thank the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for its unwavering support to different events that benefit the community, including our first Ronald McDonald House of Charities Golf Tournament. It is through the help of support of generous groups like the TSL Foundation that we are able to hold this event,” Ayuyu said.

Marcia and her husband Joe Ayuyu Jr. are hosting the historic golf tournament on Saipan to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House of Charities, a non-profit group that has helped over 38,000 families from the NMI, Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Palau, and Hawaii by providing accommodations and meals for families traveling to Honolulu to seek medical treatment for their children. The couple visited Ronald McDonald House of Charities in 2015 and witnessed how families found comfort by staying together in a “home away from home” during one of the most difficult times of their lives. The Ayuyus were also inspired by the volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House of Charities so since the visit they’ve made it a mission to do something to help the group’s worthy cause.

“On behalf of the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, we would like congratulate McDonald’s Guam and Saipan owners and operators Joe Ayuyu Sr. and Marcia for realizing their long-time dream of finding a way to help the Ronald McDonald House fulfill its mission,” TSL Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino said.

This weekend’s Ronald McDonald House of Charities Golf Tournament did not only gain support from public and private groups, but as well as individuals, as 141 players from the NMI and Guam have signed up for the tournament.

Players will compete for a chance to win one of the four hole-in-one prizes—a 2021 Lexus NX from Atkins Kroll, a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SE from Triple J Motors, and $10,000 cash each from Bank of Saipan and United Equipment Rental.
