(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saipan Swim Club members conquered the challenge of the \u201cHundreds Hundreds\u201d long-distance competition last Saturday from the waters off Civic Center Beach in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>Taiyo Akimaru completed the boys 100x100s first, Jakey DeLeon Guerrero finished second, Moshe Sikkel third, and Michael Miller was fourth. <\/p>\n<p>Jinie Thompson completed the girls 100x100s first with Savita Sikkel coming in second.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys 50x100s, Jack Raho finished first, followed by his brother Tristan. Third place went to Zeno Iwami. Manuel Magboo and Sean Park came in fourth and fifth, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Piper Raho and Nagi Takahashi finished 1-2 in the girls 50x100s. SSC head coach Richard Sikkel said they didn\u2019t keep times for the \u201cHundreds Hundreds\u201d event.<\/p>\n<p>The Top 3 swimmers in each category received painted coconut trophies for all their troubles. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 100m is a common distance in the pool and during practice. Since they swam 100&#215;100 we call it \u2018Hundreds Hundreds,\u2019\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Sikkel said this isn\u2019t the first time they held the \u201cHundreds Hundreds\u201d competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have done this in the past as a club around New Year to ring in the year with a nice long-distance swim. Some of the SSC swimmers completed the 100x100s this weekend. The junior and senior group swam 100x100s and the younger swimmers swam 50x100s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aside from SSC swimmers, the event also attracted Dolphin Swim Club\u2019s Andrew Ahn, a pastor at a local Korean church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe swam with the kids for a bit over 7K and took a break for a while but went back and finished the rest of the 100 later in the day,\u201d said Sikkel.<\/p>\n<p>Tsunami Saipan Swimming Center was supposed to join but canceled due to swimmers having colds and injuries, according to the SSC head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Sikkel congratulated all the winners and all the participants who took part in the event.
