(CONTRIBUTED PHOTOS)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Partners and volunteers of the Governor\u2019s Council of Economic Advisers\u2019 Public Private Partnership program started the year off by completing three community improvement projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Northern Marianas Sports Association, Shirley\u2019s Football Club\/Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop, and Northern Marianas College completed Adopt-A-Median projects in high-traffic intersections on Saipan. The organizations gave streets, medians, curbs, and barriers much-needed facelifts and helped to improve the safety and visibility of the medians and curbs for motorists and pedestrians.<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 29, the NMSA transformed the Oleai Sports Complex parking lot and curbs in preparation for the Pacific Mini Games this June.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 11, the Shirley\u2019s Football Club\/Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop wrapped up its Adopt-A-Median project in Garapan by painting the borders around the intersection in front of the JG Sablan Ice &amp; Water.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 14, NMC volunteers repainted the Chalan Monsignor Guerrero medians in front of Shell Dan Dan.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, seven groups and families completed major facelifts at intersections around Saipan. Four additional schools have committed to adopting medians on Tinian and Saipan during the first quarter of 2022. GCEA welcomes groups to sign up to adopt medians in their villages. Interested groups can register online at cnmieconomy.com.<\/p>\n<p>GCEA extends a si yu\u2019us ma\u2019\u00e5se\u2019 and ghilisow to NMSA, Shirley\u2019s Football Club\/Shirley\u2019s Coffee Shop, and NMC for making Saipan safer and more beautiful for all residents. GCEA also thanks the Department of Public Safety\u2019s Highway Safety Patrol for ensuring our partners and volunteers are safe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Adopt-A-Median program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Adopt-A-Median program is an integral part of the GCEA\u2019s Marianas Village Pride campaign and the Public Private Partnership Program. GCEA is accepting registration for projects in every village on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. Schools, groups, families, and businesses can adopt, clean, and paint medians, sidewalks, or crosswalks in their villages. GCEA will provide the supplies. For the safety of the students, GCEA recommend that school groups adopt sidewalks and crosswalks around their schools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About GCEA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Governor\u2019s Council of Economic Advisers\u2019 mission is to provide objective advice to CNMI Gov.
