Eloy S. Inos before farmers, vendors, farmers, and agriculture advocates on Saturday at the Civic Center in Susupe.<\/p>\n<p>Inos also proclaimed May 24, 2014, as Saipan Agricultural Fair Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge all CNMI residents to support the efforts of farmers and ranchers in promoting our traditional and cultural agricultural practices throughout the year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_36025\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36025\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a attid=\"36025\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AGRICULTURE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AGRICULTURE-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Gov. (Jayson Camacho)<\/figcaption><\/figure>To achieve a better understanding of and appreciation for agriculture\u2019s role on the islands, he urged everyone present at the signing to purchase locally grown produce and livestock.<\/p>\n<p>Inos told Saipan Tribune that he supports local farmers and visits the Sabalu Market in Susupe every Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI grew up in a farm and I love farming. It\u2019s a very rewarding experience and when you plant something from the ground up and you see it bear fruit, it becomes a very rewarding experience,\u201d Inos said. \u201cYou could you use it for your own or sell it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manuel A. Tenorio, director of the Division of Agriculture of the Department of Lands and Natural Resources, said the proclamation also seeks to recognize the hard work of farmers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFarmers are growing things and raising livestock and recognizing their hard work is part of this month\u2019s celebration,\u201d said Tenorio.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council chair Ramon B. Camacho said the weeklong celebration leads up to the Agricultural Fair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be the 31st anniversary and this will continue to help and promote healthy living.
