Edith E. DeLeon Guerrero (D-Saipan) last Jan. 20 that $750,000 was awarded in fiscal year 2021, and $2,328,994 was awarded during fiscal year 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig provided the information after DeLeon Guerrero filed an Open Government Act request to obtain the latest information about the CNMI\u2019s expenditure plan for the money it got via ARPA.<\/p>\n<p>The non-profit awardees are the Commonwealth Cancer Association, American Red Cross-NMI Chapter, Northern Marianas Protection &amp; Advocacy Systems Inc., Saipan Cares for Animals, Karidat Social Services, Mariana Islands Nature Alliance, Center for Living Independently in the CNMI, Micronesian Legal Services Corp., and CNMI Women\u2019s Association.<\/p>\n<p>Of the nine awardees, the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance got the highest amount, $725,200, which was awarded in fiscal year 2022. Micronesian Legal Services Corp. received the lowest, $150,000\u2014in fiscal year 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Cancer Association was awarded $400,000 in fiscal year 2021 and $84,600 in fiscal year 2022. The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter was awarded $350,000 in fiscal year 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The Northern Marianas Protection &amp; Advocacy Systems Inc. was awarded $222,096 in fiscal year 2022; Saipan Cares for Animals got $300,000 in fiscal year 2022; Karidat got $323,830 in fiscal year 2022; the Center for Living Independently in the CNMI, $323,268, in fiscal year 2022; and CNMI Women\u2019s Association, $200,000, in fiscal year 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Of the nine awardees, only four\u2014the Commonwealth Cancer Association, American Red Cross-NMI Chapter, Northern Marianas Protection &amp; Advocacy Systems Inc., and Saipan Cares for Animals\u2014received disbursement in the amount of $100,000 each.<\/p>\n<p>Atalig said that, in accordance with the CNMI\u2019s ARPA spending plan, non-profits were allocated $4 million in fiscal year 2021 and $6 million in fiscal year 2022, for a total of $10 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig informed Sen.
