{"id":361549,"date":"2022-02-08T06:06:20","date_gmt":"2022-02-07T20:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=361549"},"modified":"2022-02-08T06:06:20","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T20:06:20","slug":"211-new-covid-19-cases-idd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/211-new-covid-19-cases-idd\/","title":{"rendered":"211 new COVID-19 cases ID\u2019d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In its sixth successive report of COVID-19 cases topping a hundred, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. reported last night the identification of 211 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the CNMI total to\u00a06,102\u00a0cases since March 26, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In Guam, its Joint Information Center was notified of two COVID-19-related fatalities, bringing the territory\u2019s death toll from COVID-19 to 298.<\/p>\n<p>In the CNMI\u2019s latest cases, a total of 209\u00a0were identified on Feb.\u00a05, 2022, and\u00a0two\u00a0were confirmed on Feb.\u00a04, 2022.\u00a0Of the\u00a0211\u00a0cases, 176 were\u00a0identified via contact tracing,\u00a030\u00a0via community testing,\u00a0and five\u00a0via travel testing. Five of the new cases were\u00a0identified on Tinian, and five on Rota.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All 211 cases have been isolated and are being actively monitored, assured CHCC. The vaccination statuses of the\u00a0211\u00a0cases are pending verification.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This comes soon after CHCC reported successive triple-digit number of new COVID-19 cases in the CNMI since the start of February: 204 on Feb. 5; 112 on Feb. 4; 261 on Feb. 3; 252 on Feb. 2; and 154 on Feb. 1.<\/p>\n<p>As of\u00a0Feb.\u00a06, 2022, there were eight individuals hospitalized as a result of COVID-19: six are unvaccinated and two are vaccinated. Three have already been discharged\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A total of\u00a013\u00a0COVID-19 vaccines were administered on\u00a0Feb.\u00a06, 2022, resulting in 99.7% of the CNMI\u2019s eligible population being fully vaccinated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A total of\u00a0715\u00a0COVID-19 tests were conducted on\u00a0Feb.\u00a05, 2022. Of that number, 405\u00a0were tested via community-based testing; 204\u00a0at the COVID-19 Community Center (referrals only); 67\u00a0at Tinian Health Center; and 39\u00a0at the Rota Health Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Of the total 6,102 cases identified in the CNMI so far, as of\u00a0Feb. 5, 2022, there have been 4,541\u00a0recoveries; 1,538\u00a0active cases; and 23 COVID-19-related deaths.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest COVID-19-related fatalities in Guam, the 297th case occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Feb. 6, 2022. The patient was an 81-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions who tested positive on Jan. 19, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The 298th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at GMH on Feb. 6, 2022. The patient was a 70-year-old male, vaccinated, with no known underlying health conditions who tested positive on February 6, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[First gentleman] Jeff [Cook], [Lt.
