{"id":363850,"date":"2022-03-10T06:00:45","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T20:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=363850"},"modified":"2022-03-10T06:00:45","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T20:00:45","slug":"united-starts-ukraine-aid-to-fly-in-workers-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/united-starts-ukraine-aid-to-fly-in-workers-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"United starts Ukraine aid  to fly in workers, supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Chicago, Illinois<\/strong>\u2014United announced Tuesday a fundraising effort that has the potential to play a critical role in the mission to fly aid workers and supplies to the areas of Ukraine that are most in need.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Tuesday, United\u2019s MileagePlus members can donate cash or miles to the airline\u2019s signature relief partners\u2014Airlink, Americares, American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen\u2014by visiting united.com\/UkraineSupport. United will match the first five million donated miles\u2014the equivalent of hundreds of connecting flights to places like Poland, Hungary and Romania\u2014and $100,000 as well as award bonus miles to anyone who gives $50 or more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe human tragedy we are witnessing in Ukraine is horrifying and has shocked us all so we\u2019re doing our part to quickly help get aid to the people who desperately need relief,\u201d said United president Brett Hart. \u201cOur partners have been on the ground for more than a week and it\u2019s clear they need more resources to fulfill their mission of flying workers and supplies to and from the frontlines of this crisis.
