The U.S. District Court for the NMI has revoked the probation of a man involved in license fraud because he violated the terms of his release, which includes not driving a vehicle. <\/p>\n

Mingjin Jin self-surrendered to Department of Corrections last Monday following an order from District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona last week. <\/p>\n

In revoking Jin\u2019s probation, he is to serve a three-month sentence after he was seen by a probation officer driving a car without a driver\u2019s license last February, which violates his release conditions.<\/p>\n

In addition, Jin was ordered to serve two years of supervised release after he completes his sentence.<\/p>\n

Jin, whose term of probation was supposed to expire on May 27, 2022, was told not to operate a vehicle as part of the terms of his release. <\/p>\n

Jin, represented by court-appointed attorney Steven Pixley, admitted that he violated these probation conditions.<\/p>\n

Back in 2021, the district court sentenced Jin to one-year probation for presenting a fake driver\u2019s license and fake vehicle registration during a traffic stop in 2019. He was convicted of conspiracy to unlawfully produce an identification document.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 2, 2022, however, a probation officer saw Jin operating a vehicle without a driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Jin also admitted that he had purchased the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Jin, who was indicted on Nov. 24 2020, entered the CNMI back in 1991 as a garment worker, but lost his immigration status sometime before the Aug. 22, 2019, traffic stop that revealed he was using a fake driver\u2019s license and vehicle registration. <\/p>\n
