(MARK RABAGO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Northern Marianas Athletics has rescheduled its 2nd Annual NMI Women\u2019s 10K Run from Feb. 12 to Feb. 26. The sports organization has been holding the event for the past two years in celebration of Women\u2019s Month in the Marianas and International Women\u2019s Day 2022.<\/p>\n<p>NMA secretary general Robin Sapong said they postponed the NMI Women\u2019s 10K Run for two weeks due to a \u201cfew hurdles in both logistics and equipment requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The race will use the 10K Saipan Half Marathon course along Beach Road Saipan and is open to all female competitors. Off-island and male competitors can all participate virtually, by running 10K or 5K anywhere they would like between March 8 and March 31. This will require you to run with a GPS-enabled device and upload your results to this site.<\/p>\n<p>NMA said finisher\u2019s medals will be awarded to those who complete the NMI Women\u2019s 10K Run. Age division up for grabs are under 18, open, 35-39, 40-44,45-49, 50-54,55-59, 60-64, and 65 plus. <\/p>\n<p>For virtual runners, the following events are offered\u2014men\u2019s and women\u2019s 10K, men\u2019s and women\u2019s 5K, male\/female 10K under 18, male\/female 5K under 18, and 4x5K relay.<\/p>\n<p>NMA is expecting a strong turnout for this year\u2019s edition of the NMI Women\u2019s 10K Run. \u201cOur expectation is to be able to deliver a great  experience for our participants,\u201d said Sapong.<\/p>\n<p>As incentive, the NMA official said the Top 3 finishers of this year\u2019s NMI Women\u2019s 10K Run will receive free entries to the Saipan Half Marathon set for next month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe in-person 10K will also be a test run for our new timing system which we are securing for us for use to deliver chiming timing results. We still limit entries below 115. So far, our pre-registration was at 20 as of last Friday,\u201d said Sapong.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Lily Muldoon topped the inaugural edition of the race after clocking in at 43:42.
