Leon Guerrero, UOG Endowment Foundation chairman and UOG president emeritus; Patrick Bulaon, operations manager,\u00a0Matson; Katrina Perez, executive director, UOGEF; and Stephen Gatewood, operations support,\u00a0Matson.\u00a0(UNIVERSITY OF GUAM ENDOWMENT FOUNDATION)<br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The University of Guam\u00a0Endowment Foundation\u00a0recognized\u00a0Matson\u00a0Navigation Co. on Feb. 28 for the company\u2019s donations to the foundation in 2021 totaling $10,625.\u00a0The funds will support the university\u2019s students and various programs, in particular the Isla Center for the Arts, the School of Business and Public Administration, and the Guam Green Growth initiative facilitated by the Center for Island Sustainability. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A portion of the donation will also support the\u00a0Matson\u00a0Empowerment Scholarship\u2014which\u00a0Matson created through UOGEF\u2014to promote greater diversity in the next generation of business leaders. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded in the 2022\u2013 2023 academic year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UOG Endowment Foundation is honored to accept these donations from\u00a0Matson,\u201d said Katrina Perez, executive director of UOGEF.\u00a0\u201cWe\u00a0are humbled by the continued philanthropic backing of our local businesses towards the various UOG scholarships and programs.
