Ralph DLG Torres is encouraging residents\u2014and challenging his Cabinet\u2014to join him.<\/p>\n<p>Torres embarked on this mission on a challenge by mixed martial arts professional Frank \u201cThe Crank\u201d Camacho to live and lead fit. Camacho created a diet and exercise program for Torres, and he is feeling the results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have more energy, and that equates to more time with my family,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Torres is taking his fitness more seriously, and he is also meeting with a physical trainer and a nutritionist to be able to reach his personal goals. \u201cBut this level of effort is not required for anyone in the community to strive for, only that they should do what they can to start living healthier,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_361586\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-361586\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Ralph-DLG-Torres-11-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-361586\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-361586\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torres<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cGood health is a tremendous defense against the effects of COVID-19. We have worked together to protect our community by wearing our masks, washing our hands, and watching our distance. The next step is to take control of our physical health and wellbeing,\u201d Torres added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important that we continue to employ the 3Ws, but it is also imperative that we do more to steer our people from the worst-case scenario,\u201d he added. \u201cEven outside of COVID-19, good health is a great defense against other ailments like high blood pressure and diabetes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to getting cardio work in, waking up early in the morning also means Torres is able to get an early start to working for the people of the Commonwealth. He is hopeful, too, that members of his Cabinet will join the movement and start living and leading fit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy work day starts earlier, and I am good with this. Day in and day out, this gives me more time to dialogue with my senior staff about the business of serving our people,\u201d Torres said.\u00a0 \u201cI am committed to live fit and lead fit, and I hope to motivate the Cabinet to join this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Torres will continue to provide progress updates and information on upcoming initiatives.\u00a0<strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Weeks into his personal fitness journey, Gov.
