{"id":365428,"date":"2022-04-01T06:04:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T20:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=365428"},"modified":"2022-04-01T06:04:30","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T20:04:30","slug":"jkpl-invites-public-to-annual-literacy-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/jkpl-invites-public-to-annual-literacy-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"JKPL invites public to annual literacy fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is inviting the community to celebrate a monthlong series of festivities highlighting National Library Week starting this Saturday, April 2, at the JKPL parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s activity, called the 3rd Annual Community Mobile Information Literacy Fair, signals the start of \u201cNational Library Week\u201d and will last from  10am to 2:30pm. Participants will each get a \u201cpassport\u201d that they will be stamped at each booth they visit. The first 100 participants who complete their passports will get free popcorn, shave ice, and cotton candy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>National Library Week 2022, which is from April 3 to April 9, is a time to celebrate the nation\u2019s libraries, library workers\u2019 contributions and promote library use and support.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The theme for National Library Week is \u201cConnect with Your Library,\u201d which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources\u2014in addition to books. Overall, the theme is an invitation for communities to join, visit, or advocate for their local libraries.<\/p>\n<p>The JKPL encourages sponsors to donate to the event, where they are able to receive cash contributions under Educational Tax Credits.
