{"id":366244,"date":"2022-04-13T06:00:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T20:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=366244"},"modified":"2022-04-13T06:00:03","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T20:00:03","slug":"5-from-nmi-together-with-18-others-are-newest-eldp-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/5-from-nmi-together-with-18-others-are-newest-eldp-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"5 from NMI, together with 18 others, are newest ELDP graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_366251\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-366251\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/ELDP-pixw-300x200.jpg\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-366251\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ELDP<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Five future CNMI leaders were part of this year\u2019s batch of the Executive Leadership Development Program of the U.S. Department of the Interior\u2019s Office of Insular Affairs, which had their commencement ceremony last March 10, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole Babauta of the Small Business Development Center, Antonio Borja from the Commonwealth Ports Authority, Janice Castro from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration CNMI, Christopher Concepcion from the Office of Planning &amp; Development, and Bobby Cruz from the Public School System were joined by 18 others who successfully completed the ELDP, representing American Samoa, Guam, the CNMI, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/ELDP-By-Professionsw-300x191.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>OIA director Nikolao Pula delivered welcome remarks to over 100 alumni, family, and friends who joined the 23 graduates to celebrate their graduation. Since 2008, OIA has supported the participation of 178 young leaders who have completed the program. <\/p>\n<p>A similar program for students from the U.S. Virgin Islands, called the USVI Executive Leadership Program, takes place in Washington, D.C. and other locations along the East Coast where students join U.S. federal employees for training. There is a USVI 2022-2023 cohort that is expected to complete their studies next summer.
