Since May 2 until last Monday, no one in the CNMI has been hospitalized due to COVID-19\u2014a trend that has been maintained in the CNMI since April 4, 2022.<\/p>\n
The latest news release from the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. indicate that, as of May\u00a09, 2022, there\u00a0was no individuals hospitalized due to COVID-19. The last time the CNMI recorded a hospitalization from COVID-19 was March 30, 2022.<\/p>\n
Also, 24 more\u00a0individuals have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the CNMI\u00a0total to 11,305 cases since March 28, 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Of the 24\u00a0cases, 11 were identified on May 2, four on May 3, two on May 5, three on May 6, three on May 7, and one on May 8.<\/p>\n
Of the total number of cases that have been identified in the CNMI, there have already been 11,262 recoveries and 34 COVID-19-related deaths. A total of 10,383 were identified via\u00a0community testing\u00a0and 922 via travel testing.<\/p>\n
The next CHCC report will be on May 16, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As of May 9, 2022, a total of 23,138 COVID-19 additional\/booster vaccine shots have been administered; of the eligible population, 62%\u00a0have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-years-old and older population.\u00a0<\/p>\n
