Matansa met Kanoa anew this month and won, 1-0, to top the division. Tawny Barcinas scored the winning goal late in the second half to give Matansa a 4-2-0 win-draw-loss record, one victory ahead of No. 2 TanHoldings (3-1-2). Kanoa placed third with its 2-1-3 mark, while Paire-2 was at the cellar after a winless season, two draws and four losses.

TanHoldings got victory No. 3 and foiled Paire-2’s bid to secure a win at the conclusion of the competition in their division after recording a 2-1 triumph. Maria Leo Ann Hix nailed the go-ahead for TanHoldings in the 45th minute, while Maria Masha scored the other goal for the team eight minutes earlier. Paire made it to the board first, courtesy of Shar Casil’s goal in the 25th, but failed to hang on to the lead, leaving the team without a victory in the short season.

In the same Flores-Pee’ Luwal Division, but in Group A, Shirley’s settled for a draw against MP United last Sunday, 1-1.

Despite the draw, Shirley’s still ended up with the Group A’s best record at 4-0-2—ahead of Southern United (2-2-2), Paire-1 (1-4-1), and MP United (1-3-2). Mikayla Lopez scored the lone goal for Shirley’s, while Rachel Salila hit the equalizer for MP United.

The other match in Group A also resulted in a draw after Paire-1’s Lindsay Davis delivered the game-tying goal in the 51st minute. Earlier in the 33rd minute, Erin Frink found the back of the net to put Southern United on the board.

Kanoa reigns supreme
Kanoa FC secured the season title early in the Tinekcha-Awaal Division after a 6-1 win over Shirley’s last week.

Kaithlyn Chavez led the victory with her hat-trick, giving Kanoa a 7-0-1 record in the three-round robin contest with one game left in the season. Kanoa played Southern United in its finals match for the competition last Wednesday and although results of the game were unavailable at press time, they will no longer affect the former’s ranking. Kanoa, prior to its final match in the season, had a two-win lead over TakeCare, which held a 5-1-2 mark before it dueled Shirley’s last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, MP United-1 and TanHoldings prevailed in last Sunday’s games in the Simiya/Faayúl Division.

MP United-1 cruised past Paire, while TanHoldings outclassed Shirley’s, 4-1. Kanoa and MP United-2 completed the weekend tripleheader and played to a scoreless draw.

Shirley’s Football Club and Matansa Football Club finished on top of the final team standings…

[5

post-368886","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["GET
