5.4-magnitude earthquake in Rota region
\nAt\u00a04:45am\u00a0yesterday, May 24, 2022, a report of a\u00a05.4-magnitude earthquake occurred\u00a014.114\u00b0N 145.976\u00b0E\u00a0of Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands. Currently, no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Water service interruption today <\/strong>
\nThere will be an emergency water service interruption for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers on Beach Road Chalan Piao from the Mobil Gas Station south to the Victory Chapel Church today, May 25, 2022, from 8:30am to 4pm. <\/p>\n

The emergency water interruption is to allow CUC operations personnel to repair a 4-inch mainline break near the Subway Restaurant in Chalan Piao. Customers should expect restoration of water services soon after. <\/p>\n

Motorists are asked to proceed with caution when traveling through the working area. <\/p>\n

Water service interruption on Friday <\/strong>
\nThere will be a scheduled water service interruption for customers along Beach Road Chalan Kanoa from Tasi Homes to Great Harvest on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 9am to 3pm. <\/p>\n

The scheduled water service interruption is to allow CUC\u2019s contractor for the Islandwide Water Meter Installation Project, to perform a leak repair and defective valve change-out at the Aquarius Beach Tower Hotel. Customers should expect restoration of water services soon after. <\/p>\n

This project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and aims to address the non-revenue water problems in the CNMI.

Military field\u00a0training exercise in the CNMI<\/strong>
\nJoint Region Marianas advises the CNMI community of convoy operations with tactical military vehicles scheduled to support an upcoming military exercise from June 5-13.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the convoy operations, numerous tactical military vehicles will traverse public roads on Saipan. Additionally, the public may see increased activity at the Port of Saipan and parts of Tinian associated with the training.<\/p>\n

The planned military activities should not conflict with the Pacific Mini Games scheduled for mid-June.<\/p>\n
