{"id":369777,"date":"2022-06-06T06:06:19","date_gmt":"2022-06-05T20:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=369777"},"modified":"2022-06-06T06:06:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-05T20:06:19","slug":"chcc-sunshine-squad-donates-1k-to-t-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/chcc-sunshine-squad-donates-1k-to-t-project\/","title":{"rendered":"CHCC Sunshine Squad donates $1K to T-Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/T-Project-logo-W.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-369774\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/T-Project-logo-W.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"147\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.\u2019s Sunshine Squad recently donated $1,000 to T-Project CNMI, a nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands that offer support and services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, gender fluid and\/or gender non-conforming individuals, family, friends, and allies.<\/p>\n<p>According to T-Project founder and president Tyra Sablan, the donation \u201cis an incredible gesture\u201d from CHCC and will go toward supporting the organization\u2019s goals to achieve its vision of a stronger, healthier, more resilient, and equitable CNMI for LGBTQ+ people and their allies.<\/p>\n<p>LGBTQ+ people experience a number of healthcare disparities and are at higher risk of certain conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of T-Project\u2019s focus is inclusivity in healthcare,\u201d said Sablan. \u201cWe intend to use the funds to promote healthcare practices that are more patient-centered by providing resources to support CHCC Pride Committee\u2019s efforts in achieving health justice for all, especially for our most marginalized\u2014transgender and non-binary patients. We are grateful and humbled by the continued support from our community and to the CHCC for pioneering this transformation in healthcare in the CNMI. Thank Dr. Lily Muldoon and the Sunshine Squad for believing in us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for why T-Project was chosen as a recipient, Muldoon said, \u201cT-Project is an organization we believe will help us promote inclusive processes within our health practice. They create safe spaces for the CNMI\u2019s LGBTQ+ community and therefore our patients.
