class=\"wp-caption-text\">Leon-Guerrero<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Teepa Snow, a registered and licensed occupational therapist and a fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, will present on \u201cThe Typical Progression of Dementia and How to Help\u201d\u00a0this Saturday, and\u00a0applied gerontologist Dr. Beth Nolan will present on \u201cUnderstanding the Different Dementias\u201d\u00a0on Saturday, June 25.\u00a0The sessions will be online via Zoom, and Snow and Nolan\u00a0will be available after their presentations to answer questions from the group participants.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_370044\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-370044\" style=\"width: 214px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/teepa-snow-PWb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Snow<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Also this month,\u00a0two online dementia support group sessions\u00a0will feature special presentations on \u201cReminiscence Therapy in Dementia Care\u201d with local writer Jillette Torre Leon-Guerrero.\u00a0Leon-Guerrero will share stories about her father\u2019s life growing up in Guam in the 1930s and \u201840s, along with live readings from her book Coming of Age in War-Torn Guam: The WWII Memoirs of Justo Torre Leon Guerrero.\u00a0These sessions are specially designed to help caregivers learn to make meaningful connections\u00a0with older adults and persons with dementia by embracing the oral storytelling traditions of Pacific island cultures, including sharing life stories and family memories.<\/p>\n<p>The presentations\u00a0are\u00a0part of the ongoing online support groups for\u00a0family caregivers of persons with dementia\u00a0being conducted by the Guam\/Micronesia Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement
