(CLUTCH GUAM)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Coby Santos and sisters E\u2019Anna and Ky\u2019Sonna Kwon were named to the All-Tournament Select team of 2022 FIBA Micronesian Cup held last week at the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse.<\/p>\n<p>Santos was joined in the men\u2019s all-tourney team by Palau\u2019s\u00a0 Jerry Ngiraremiang, Federated States of Micronesia\u2019s A.J. Bisalen, and Guam\u2019s Joe Blas and Ben Borja.<\/p>\n<p>The Won sisters, meanwhile, made the women\u2019s all-tourney team along with Palau\u2019s Kristen Sugiyama and Guam\u2019s Mia San Nicolas and Derin Stinnett.<\/p>\n<p>Santos led all scorers in the four-day tournament with an average of 22.8 points per game on 45.8% field goal percentage on 2-pointers, 71.4% from the three throw line, and 38.5% on 3-point shots.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_370319\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-370319\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/NMIBF-pix-2.wb_.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/NMIBF-pix-2.wb_.jpg\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-370319\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Coby Santos, second from left, was named to the All-Tournament Select team of 2022 FIBA Micronesian Cup.(CLUTCH GUAM)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>E\u2019Anna, meanwhile, led all cage belles in scoring with an 18.5\u00a0 points per game clip in four games. Ky\u2019Sonna was third overall with an average of 13 points per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>E\u2019Anna shot 44.1% on 2-pointers, 71.5% from the free throw line, and 30% from the land of plenty, while Ky\u2019Sonna submitted percentages of 29.4%, 72.2%, and 21.1% from those areas of the court, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Santos\u2019 CNMI National Men\u2019s Basketball Team finished with a bronze medal, while the Wons\u2019 CNMI National Women\u2019s Basketball Team bagged the silver medal in the tourney.<\/p>\n<p>Santos was glad to have been included in the All-Tournament Select team of the Micro Cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHappy with what me and the team got. We gave it all we had despite our differences with the other teams. We know that we had a shot at that silver medal, but it just didn\u2019t come our way.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added that more than the hardware, he\u2019s just happy that the men\u2019s team was able to experience this type of high-level basketball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the day we all had fun and played as a team. I saw my teammates giving everything they had to provide for the team and that felt good to know that we don\u2019t give up that easily even if it was for third place. I am happy with what we got, but I believe\u2014and I hope my boys believe it too\u2014we could\u2019ve done better than bronze,\u201d added Santos.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old veteran of the Micronesian Games also thanked his family and friends for their support not only during the Micro Cup but throughout his basketball career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to dedicate the [All-Tournament Select team] award to my family, friends, and all my coaches that believed in me. Without you guys, I know for a fact that I wouldn\u2019t be the player I am today. Thank you and God bless,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>For the Won sisters, being named in the All-Tournament Select team was the cherry on top of the ice cream that was the silver medal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing named part of the all-star five means a lot to us and it makes it even more special that we were able to represent our island while doing so. Saipan will forever be our home. We wouldn\u2019t have been able to perform at this level though without the support of our teammates, coaches, family and of course hard work!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sisters also said the silver medal they won was worth all the sacrifices they\u2019ve done the past few months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud of our team and our silver medal win. We put in so much work and we got better everyday.
