The Superior Court has imposed a $100,000 cash bail on a man accused of selling methamphetamine, or ice, to Drug Enforcement Task Force cooperating defendants. <\/p>\n
During a bail hearing last Friday, suspect Jian Guang Zhang appeared in the custody of the Department of Corrections before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho, who imposed a $100,000 cash bail for his temporary release. <\/p>\n
Assistant public defender Karie Comstock was appointed by the court to represent Zhang while assistant attorney general Steve Kessel appeared for the government.<\/p>\n
After the hearing, Camacho remanded Zhang to the custody of the Department of Corrections and ordered him to return to court on June 17 at 10am for a preliminary hearing, and on June 27 at 9am for an arraignment. <\/p>\n
Zhang was arrested in April after he allegedly sold \u201cice\u201d during two \u201cbuy-walk\u201d operations conducted by the Department of Public Safety-Drug Enforcement Task Force.<\/p>\n
Zhang, 34, has since been charged with two counts of trafficking, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, Zhang sold a total of 3.1 grams of methamphetamine for an estimated amount of $480.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
