Teresita A. Santos (Ind-Rota) yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>Santos, who is one of those running for Rota mayor, said a six-way race would give the electorate more options or choices to elect among those seeking the mayoral position.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune learned that aside from Santos, five others are running for mayor\u2014Aubrey Hocog, Magdalena Mesngon, Harry Masga, Rodney Taisacan, and Alfred Taimanao.<\/p>\n<p>Hocog is the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority board chair woman. She is currently working for the Rota Mayor\u2019s Office where she coordinates activities and\/or programs.<br \/>\nMesngon is currently a Head Start teacher. She previously served as director for Rota\u2019s Community and Cultural Affairs. <\/p>\n<p>Masga is employed by the Rota office of U.S. Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP).<\/p>\n<p>Taisacan is a former Commonwealth Ports Authority seaport director.<\/p>\n<p>Taimanao is a U.S. Army veteran.<\/p>\n<p>Santos is running as an independent, while Hocog is running under the Republican Party. It\u2019s not clear yet who is the Democratic Party\u2019s bet for Rota mayor. <\/p>\n<p>In the 2018 elections, Rota Mayor Efrain M. Atalig was re-elected in a five-way mayoral race.
