Crisostomo, a habitual offender who was convicted of kidnapping, raping, killing, and robbing bartender Emerita R. Romero, will be sentenced today. <\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho will hold the sentencing at 9am.<\/p>\n<p>Last April 24, a jury found the 40-year-old Crisostomo guilty of first-degree murder, kidnapping, sexual assault in the first-degree, and robbery.<\/p>\n<p>Camacho, who presided over the trial and decided the misdemeanor charges, found Crisostomo guilty of assault and battery and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n<p>First-degree murder carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment; sexual assault in the first degree, 30 years; kidnapping with injuries, 30 years; robbery with injuries, 20 years; assault and battery, one year; and disturbing the peace, six months.<\/p>\n<p>At today\u2019s sentencing hearing, those who don\u2019t support leniency for Crisostomo will be allowed to speak first. Those who support leniency will speak next.<\/p>\n<p>Romero was last seen boarding a car near her house in Garapan in the early morning hours of Feb. 5, 2012. Two days later, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents found her body in a small room at an abandoned La Fiesta Mall in San Roque\/As Matuis. Autopsy showed she was beaten up and strangled to death with a pair of leggings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joseph A.
