{"id":37144,"date":"2014-05-29T07:17:35","date_gmt":"2014-05-28T21:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=37144"},"modified":"2014-05-29T07:17:35","modified_gmt":"2014-05-28T21:17:35","slug":"matansa-nips-paire-womens-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/matansa-nips-paire-womens-league\/","title":{"rendered":"Matansa nips Paire in women\u2019s league"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Matansa Football Club scored early to nose out Paire Football Club, 1-0, in the first game in the 2014 NMIFA Women\u2019s League last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.<\/p>\n<p>Bernadette Horey drilled the lone goal in the game, finding the back of the net in the 10th minute. Matansa hung on to the slim lead at the break and kept the advantage and the win in the second half, as Paire failed to light up the scoreboard despite its repeated attempts.<br \/>\nIn the other game last Saturday, Independents FC bagged a 2-0 victory over  Kanoa FC.  Vanessa Gramlich hit both goals for Independents, recording her first one in the 18th minute and the second in the 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Kanoa was shut out and absorbed its third loss this season, as it lacked offensive options after missing some key players in the weekend game. Kanoa played without Marielle Gariguez, Irish Pagarao, Mikky Vargas, Thea Minor, Jeralyn Castillo, and goalkeeper Jhaneeka Atalig, who were part of a select team that competed in the invitational tournament in Hong Kong last week.<\/p>\n<p>In the third game of the day, the Shirley\u2019s FC and MP United tiff was rescheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, only two matches, too were completed in the M-League last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Wild Bill\u2019s played in the last match and demolished Paire FC, 4-0. Wild Bill\u2019s blew out Paire after going all out in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>The league-leading Wild Bill\u2019s was only ahead by one at halftime off Jack Thoensaket\u2019s goal in the 17th minute before pulling away in the second half. In the second frame, Tanapon Unsa kicked off Wild Bill\u2019s attack, scoring in the 75th minute. Thanyakorn Konkoed also got into the board three minutes later, while Justin McAllister drilled the last goal 10 minutes before the one-sided match wrapped up.<\/p>\n<p>The other game in the M-League was a close fight with Sun Palace edging Shirley\u2019s FC, 4-3.<\/p>\n<p>Sun Palace got a hat-trick from Hoin Ryu in the first half and withstood Shirley\u2019s rally in the second half to come out the winner of the first match. Hoin Ryu connected on his first two goals for Sun Palace in the 21st and 24th minute to put his team on top, 2-1. Fradel Sedillo drew first blood for Shirley\u2019s with his goal in the 15th minute and that was it for his squad in the first half, while Ryu extended his string of goals with his third one in the 39th minute for a 3-1 halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>Yong Chul Jang made it a 4-1 advantage when he made a conversion in the 50th minute, while Shirley\u2019s FC tried to mount a comeback with two consecutive goals in a span of two minutes.
