Google Maps has finished mapping and \u201cStreet Views\u201d photography on Rota and Tinian and will be doing all roads on Saipan next week.<\/p>\n
According to information shared by Marianas Visitors Authority, indoor mapping has already been done in all major hotels and shopping centers on Saipan.<\/p>\n
The mapping and \u201cStreet Views\u201d photography of Saipan roads was put off to next week as the Google crew is still waiting for equipment that\u2019s coming in from off-island.<\/p>\n
For the moment, the Google crew is filming some of the tourist destinations sites on Saipan, including beaches, MVA said.<\/p>\n
According to MVA, two film crews from Japan are currently on Saipan.<\/p>\n
MVA\u2019s community projects manager Martin Duenas said the Street Views would feature 3-D panoramic views of the streets of Saipan.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be good if you search up the islands and view the streets, you can look from a [street level] position,\u201d Duenas told Saipan Tribune<\/i>.<\/p>\n
According to MVA, once the crew is done on Saipan, the mapping will then move on to the Micronesian region.<\/p>\n
MVA said that Google Earth is also focusing on Guam.<\/p>\n
In an earlier statement, MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman said this is \u201cour opportunity to put our best foot forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
