Dayao and Jim Michael Ham were conferred with Grace Christian Academy\u2019s top honors during elementary commencement exercises held last Thursday at the Navy Hill school\u2019s auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>Dayao also received awards such as a runner-up for the Eagle Award, highest GPA in the sixth-grade class, Consistent Principal\u2019s List, first place in Bible Trivia, and Perfect Attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Ham also received awards for the Eagle Award, Consistent Principal\u2019s List, NJFL Regional Winner, and second place in Original Oratory, second place in Extemporaneous Speech, second place in duet acting for the Thespian Regional Winner, and Bible Trivia.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_37410\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37410\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Jim-Michael.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-37410\" alt=\"Ham, salutatorian\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Jim-Michael-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-37410\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ham, salutatorian<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Three other students received awards as top honors: Tae Yong Kim, Martin Angelo Pangilinan, and Calia Mona Lieto.<\/p>\n<p>In receiving his award, Dayao said his parents were the source of his inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have provided me a Christian education so I would be a God-fearing person,\u201d Dayao said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that his family did the \u201cright thing, that is, building a foundation of faith, love and relationship with Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Ham\u2019s remarks, he quoted Confucius that \u201cthe journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur graduation ceremony today marks the start of that single step. Whatever that single step may be, we could have never gotten here today without the help and support of our families, our teachers, friends, and most of all, our Almighty God,\u201d Ham said.<\/p>\n<p>Dayao\u2019s parents are Crispin and Mirasol Dayao and Ham\u2019s parents are Jimmy and Armela Ham.<\/p>\n<p>GCA\u2019s board chair and senior Pastor Rev. Raymond Kinsella presented the graduates with their respective awards.<\/p>\n<p>The commencement exercise, which had the theme \u201cI Will Follow You,\u201d also featured a class slideshow, a presentation to parents, and students singing their graduation song.<\/p>\n<p>The other graduating students are Catheryne Arroyo, Ja Min Elliott, Jerielle Francisco, Eun Syu Hahn, Byung Kim, Esther Kim, Sejin Kim, Sung Hyun Kim, You Sun Lee, Hyunin Noh, William Sang, Robert Schorr, and Lanz Victoria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arvin S.
