Monroyo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Saipan\u2019s domination of the 2014 CNMI District Tournament was the highlight in last week\u2019s competition in the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Major All-Stars swept the Tinian Major All-Stars in a three-game series at the Miguel \u201cTan Ge\u201d Basa Pangelinan Ballfield to earn the right to represent the CNMI to the 2014 Asia Pacific Regional Tournament that will be held in the Philippines next month. The Saipan Senior All-Stars duplicated the feat when they also shut down the visitors in three games at the Francisco \u201cTan Ko\u201d Palacios Ballfield to gain entry, too in the regional competition.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, other notable events last week were the send-off for the CNMI U14 Girls National Team, the playoff round in the QQ caging, and the awarding ceremony for the CNMI May Masters Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The CNMI U14 Girls National Team received good luck messages for their participation in the AFC U14 Girls Regional Championships in Beijing, China. In the AFC event, they played against Hong Kong, South Korea, and Chinese-Taipei.<\/p>\n<p>In the QQ caging, Toka won the championship after a two-game sweep of JP World. Toka prevailed in Game 1, 107-92, last Wednesday, and secured the title with a 100-90 victory in Game 2 last Friday. Island Manpower joined Toka and JP World in the Top 3 after downing dethroned champion Blue Haus in the consolation match, 77-74.<\/p>\n<p>In the 32nd CNMI May Masters Tournament, Alex Castro and Lori Terre took the top honors after ruling the men\u2019s and women\u2019s divisions of the annual tournament. The organizing Saipan Bowling Association also recognized winners in the doubles, team, singles, and all events.<\/p>\n<p>In other events, two basketball leagues continued their regular season games last week.
