(LEIGH GASES)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hagu La\u2019mun bounced back from their loss a week prior and managed to edge out Asahi, 7-3, in last Sunday\u2019s men\u2019s division game of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League at the Dandan Softball Field. <\/p>\n<p>With this win, Hagu La\u2019mun is 4-3 in the standings, while Asahi is at 3-4.<\/p>\n<p>It was a battle between pitchers as Asahi\u2019s Dominic Hideo silenced their opponents\u2019 bats early on in the first inning, after putting out three of four batters and striking out two. Asahi\u2019s offense were shut down as well in the first three innings, after coming up with goose eggs against Hagu La\u2019mun\u2019s pitcher John Acosta.<\/p>\n<p>When it seemed like no one was able to score yet during the pitching duel, in the second inning, Joe Celis of Hagu La\u2019mun broke through and scored in a run for his only RBI of the game to put them up 1-0. <\/p>\n<p>In the third inning, a two-run home run resounded from the bat of Asahi\u2019s Darwin Masaharu, to bring the game 2-1, but it just wasn\u2019t enough when in the fourth inning, Hagu La\u2019mun\u2019s pitcher, who is as handy with the bat as he is with the ball, retaliated with a home run to score in three runs and put them up 4-2.<\/p>\n<p>After the burst of energy, silence reigned for two more innings as the bats quieted down in the fifth and sixth, with the seventh still anybody\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p>Edgar Ito of the Asahi blasted a home run in the seventh to put them up 3-4, but it just wasn\u2019t enough when the Hagu La\u2019mun\u2019s Richard Quitugua fired a home run and came up with three more runs to end the game, 7-3.<\/p>\n<p>In the game Asahi\u2019s Darwin Masaharu had three at-bats, with two hits, one home run, and two RBI\u2019s. Teammate Edgar Ito had three at-bats, one home run, and one RBI.
