Gumataotao has officially assumed the role of chief human resources officer at the University of Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Gumataotao holds a juris doctorate degree from the Ave Maria School of Law, an independent Roman Catholic law school in Naples, Florida. He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in communications from UOG.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope to continue the progress at the HR Office. We\u2019ve already gone digital in areas that were heavily reliant on paper-based processing,\u201d Gumataotao said.\u00a0 \u201cThe aim is to push forward with work-flow integration and getting more onboarding processing streamlined. At the same time, we will work on providing more training and development programs for our employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He most recently served as acting and interim chief human resources officer. In July, his title became official after a competitive search.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He previously was the director of UOG\u2019s Equal Employment Opportunity office and coordinator for Title IX and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance at UOG.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Gumataotao said his legal background and interest in employment law drew him into the field of human resources.
