{"id":376202,"date":"2022-09-20T06:06:09","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T20:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=376202"},"modified":"2022-09-20T06:06:09","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T20:06:09","slug":"free-birthing-classes-available-at-chcc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/free-birthing-classes-available-at-chcc\/","title":{"rendered":"Free birthing classes available at CHCC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a means to help first-time mothers alleviate some of the fear that comes with childbirth, the Commonwealth Health Center is offering free birthing classes once a month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to certified nurse midwife Brynna Lynch, who spearheads the class, the class is designed for first time moms or parents who haven\u2019t given birth at CHCC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose is to provide information about delivery at CHCC and a space for questions to make the hospital and labor less intimidating,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The class, Lynch said, is held once a month on a Friday from 4:30pm to 6pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Interested participants can contact the CHCC women\u2019s clinic for the monthly date and to sign up or if they are patients at WCC, they may sign up at the clinic at the front desk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoms are encouraged to bring their birth partners but are welcome alone.There is a PowerPoint presentation and a labor and delivery tour afterwards. Ladies can call,\u201d said Lynch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lynch is a midwife of three years who moved to Saipan from Arkansas in December 2021 to work at CHCC in clinic and on Labor and Delivery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mom delivered at home with a midwife and her strength in motherhood is the reason I am who I am today. I haven\u2019t given birth myself, but I have attended hundreds of women as they have brought their babies into the world and I bring their experiences with me when I am with my patients,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, Lynch said she aspires to help women turn their fear of child birth into power.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI absolutely love being with women as they transition to motherhood and learn how strong their bodies are.
