Sufa continued their dominance in the field as they defeated Asahi, 12-7 in the men\u2019s division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.<\/p>\n

Only three men\u2019s division games were played due to the cancellation of the morning games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sufa drew first blood as Paul Salalila and Jude Dickinson rounded the bases for two runs in the scoreboard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Asahi struck back and put up four runs right after, scoring in Hector Efraim and Darwin Masaharu, and a home run each from Dominic Hideo and Edgar Ito.<\/p>\n

From then on, Asahi was unable to score against Sufa, coming up with goose eggs in the second and third inning, and putting up only three additional runs in the fourth and fifth inning.<\/p>\n

Sufa batters didn\u2019t have much contact with the ball either, as they only put up three runs in three innings, and behind one run, 6-7, with Asahi in the lead for now.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The game started to roll again for Sufa in the last inning as the bats went popping off for the top of the lineup with home runs once again from Salalila and Dickinson collecting one more each, and Mel Tenorio hitting one of his own.<\/p>\n

Jun Salalila and Audie Maratita brought two more runs in for their team score of 12. Asahi could not come up with any more runs as they fell to Sufa, 12-7.<\/p>\n

Sufa is now up in the standings at 7-4, while Asahi dropped to 5-4.

\nMomma Charo 30,
\nSalty Boys 19<\/strong>
\nMomma Charo showed no mercy against the Salty Boys as they destroyed them, 30-19.<\/p>\n

Momma Charo\u2019s record went up to 5-6, while the Salty Boys have yet to see a win this season as they are in the bottom of the standings at 0-12.<\/p>\n

Despite having a large number of runs, only three home runs were made by Momma Charo batters. J.J. Laniyo, Benji Tagabuel, and Bernard Kileleman collected the bulk of the RBIs with five each. Laniyo almost completed the cycle in this game as he went 4-6 at\u00a0 the plate, with one double, one triple, and one home run.<\/p>\n

For the Salty Boys, Mike Techur tried as he might to carry his team to their first win, but fell short. In his effort, he hit an impressive four home runs out of five at-bats, went 5-for-5, and brought in nearly half of the team\u2019s runs with eight RBIs.

\nTokahao 24, Hagu La\u2019mun 23<\/strong>
\nIn a close game that had spectators and both teams on the edge of their seats, Tokahao managed to outlast Hagu La\u2019mun by one run to win, 24-23.<\/p>\n

Tokahao and Hagu La\u2019mun took turns putting up runs on the board, with each inning ending in ties or either team with a small lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Toward the end in the last inning, Hagu La\u2019mun was unable to score a run, but Tokahao managed to score in two runs with a two-run home run made by Manny Villagomez to win, 24-23.<\/p>\n

Tokahao is now at 8-3, while Hagu La\u2019mun fell to 6-5 in the standings.<\/p>\n
