Ralph DLG Torres, Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, and Rep. Christina E. Sablan (D-Saipan) at the Saipan World Resort\u2019s Taga Hall, according to the Saipan Chamber of Commerce yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all set for tomorrow and now we are just playing the playing game for the event,\u201d said Joray Miranda, who is the financial and data management coordinator of the Chamber.<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber is hosting the 2022 CNMI Gubernatorial Candidate Debate that will start at 5:45pm. The general elections will be on Nov. 8, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Saipan Tribune if he is ready for the debate, Torres replied \u201cyes sir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of press time Saipan Tribune was still waiting for comments from Palacios and Sablan.<\/p>\n<p>Miranda, in an interview yesterday afternoon, said for this debate there is no winner as it depends on the public eye.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_376789\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-376789\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/debate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-376789\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/debate-1024x531.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"498\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-376789\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, and Rep. Christina E. Sablan (D-Saipan)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSo this is just to give information to the public\u2026 on what the candidates stand for so they have\u00a0 an easier time during the voting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Miranda said Torres, Palacios, and Sablan will be given\u00a0 five to 10 questions, but it\u2019s subject to change depending on how long they take to answer the questions.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the candidates were not given advanced questions as all of these will be passed during the debate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNone of these questions have been referred to the candidates,\u201d Miranda said.<\/p>\n<p>He said there is a forum that they did and these questions will be randomly picked from the forum during the debate.<\/p>\n<p>Patti Arroyo will serve as the moderator. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $10 each.<\/p>\n<p>No campaign materials, literature, hats, stickers, signs, banners, or the like shall be displayed or distributed at or around the debate venue, according to the chamber\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All is set for today\u2019s debate by gubernatorial candidates Gov.
