Best Sunshine Ltd.\u2019s \u201cPeople\u2019s Survey\u201d will touch on many aspects of local people\u2019s daily lives such as education, utilities, employment, medical care, pension, and others. <\/p>\n
Best Sunshine chief operating officer Terence Tay, in a news briefing held on June 2 at Northern Marianas College, said the first part of the survey is expected to be conducted across two days.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will conduct face-to-face quantitative and qualitative surveys with a large sample of the community,\u201d Tay said.<\/p>\n
Best Sunshine said it will uphold openness and fairness in the survey.<\/p>\n
The total sample size will be about 500, based on a random sampling method that will cover people of various age groups, income classes, and occupations from every district on Saipan.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore every adult will have an opportunity to be selected for the survey,\u201d Tay said.<\/p>\n
The design of the questionnaire will be based on initial contact interviews with people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough listening to their views and exploring their needs and expectations, the structured questionnaire will be finalized in accordance with their concerns,\u201d Tay said.<\/p>\n
According to a Best Sunshine statement, the survey will address three major aspects: (1) the degree of people\u2019s satisfaction with the current situation, (2) the improvements that are required, and (3) expectation for the future.<\/p>\n
NMC president Dr. Sharon Hart said that other things that they would have to look at is bringing in other institutions from around the world for collaboration to enhance local capability.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith our involvement with the [Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education], we have the opportunity to partner up with 250 other institutions that are part of WICHE, which will give us a great opportunity to look at utilizing their degrees and programs trying to get an educated workforce,\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think people here will benefit from that because they will get knowledge from other places that they would not have the opportunity to experience,\u201d Tay said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
