The CNMI Superior Court has officially launched its new electronic recording services platform following an unveiling ceremony last Thursday at the Guma Hustisia in Susupe. <\/p>\n
Community stakeholders joined the Superior Court in an unveiling ceremony of its new electronic recording services platform that would essentially provide you the basic services offered by the Superior Court Recorder\u2019s Office at the convenience of your home or office, and at any time of the day. <\/p>\n
The project was a collaboration between the Commonwealth Recorders Office within the Superior Court, TriMin Systems, Inc., and Turnkey Solutions LLC. <\/p>\n
According to Commonwealth recorder Kelsey Aldan, the new platform, which was in the works since around April this year, is extremely important because it streamlines the process for individuals to record their documents. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt also provides that extra security of having all of them digitized already and when we launch the research application, it will provide customers with a powerful tool to be able to research all those documents with any information on those documents,\u201d she said. Right now the research application hasn\u2019t been launched yet. \u201cIt\u2019s part of the second phase of our platform,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
Aside from the convenience of the platform for the public, it is also the first electronic recording platform in the Marianas, putting the CNMI ahead of Guam. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s very exciting because not even Guam has this electronic recording platform. We\u2019re the first in the Marianas to do something like this, so that\u2019s pretty exciting. I\u2019m just hoping that we can ease the customers into the transition to a digital platform. But, if they need help, that\u2019s what we\u2019re here for,\u201d Aldan said. <\/p>\n
Documents that you can record on the platform include marriages, land documents, and more. <\/p>\n
The fees for recording your documents will be listed on the platform after you have registered and before you submit your digital documents. <\/p>\n
In a comment from William Grow II, Turnkey Systems managing partner, he said the platform is all about convenience\u2014for the consumer, for the CNMI recorder, and for the Judiciary as a whole. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re excited about providing this for the public. Anybody can now submit documents online 24\/7. You can be traveling, you don\u2019t have to be here in the CNMI. You can be in the comfort of your home, it can be at two in the morning, 12pm, really, it\u2019s convenience. We\u2019re looking for convenience for our consumers and for the judiciary,\u201d said Grow. <\/p>\n
Saipan Tribune also spoke with individuals who use the service and they stated that, after test driving the platform, they can say that it has made their jobs much easier. <\/p>\n
According to Maria Calma of Security Title Inc., the platform has proven to be convenient for her company as they no longer are bound by regular working hours when it comes to recording documents. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur time to file our documents is not limited to 8am to 12am anymore. Now we can just file after 12. Also, the turnaround is very good because it\u2019s faster [based on] our experience right now,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
