The Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands\u2019 fundraising basketball tournament for the 2014 Micronesian Games will kick off today at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.<\/p>\n
The fundraiser, which is for the CNMI men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams competing in the Micro Games next month in Pohnpei, will have two divisions\u2014the men\u2019s and co-ed.<\/p>\n
The CNMI Men\u2019s National Team will battle the Anderson Bombers, Hoops, I Love Saipan, Blue Haus, and Mariana Resort in the men\u2019s division, while the co-ed field has the CNMI Women\u2019s Nationals, MHS Freshmen, Junior Nationals, and the Rollers.<\/p>\n
The CNMI Women\u2019s Nationals and the MHS Freshen will play in today\u2019s first game at 5pm, while the second match at 7pm will have Mariana Resort challenging the Hoops. In the final game tonight at 8:30pm, I Love Saipan will take on Blue Haus. <\/p>\n
Games in the fundraiser will run throughout this weekend with the finals in both divisions set for 9am and 11am this Sunday.
\nThe tournament will charge a spectator fee of $1 and there will be raffle drawings, 3-point contest, half court shot for spectators, and lots of other giveaways. Around $3,000 worth of raffle prizes are at stake in the four-day tournament.<\/p>\n
