They were recorded in Las Vegas, released on a CD and have\u00a0previously\u00a0appeared in the Saipan Tribune.\u00a0Happy Thanksgiving.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>A Wild Turkey Quartet<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTom turkey asks please give me a chance\u00a0<br \/>\nto eat, give me a chance to gobble like you<br \/>\nI\u2019ll find some low bush cranberries<br \/>\nand some dropped apples on the ground<br \/>\nyour control over my death is fine<br \/>\njust give me a chance to eat before I die.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe way that turkey flew<br \/>\n\u00a0and gobbled as it ran<br \/>\ngave me a different view<br \/>\nand changed my hunting plan<br \/>\nit put into my head\u00a0<br \/>\na serious change of mood<br \/>\nso instead of cold and dead<br \/>\nI will not shoot the dude.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTom turkey waits for carving<br \/>\nto be untrussed and dressed<br \/>\nmoist and tender stays the turkey breast<br \/>\nturkey gravy with giblets<br \/>\nturkey stuffing with oysters and niblets.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWishbone! wild turkey almost gone<br \/>\nas Thanksgiving must next day at dawn<br \/>\ntomorrow\u2019s soup is turkey noodle<br \/>\ncranberry muffins a loaf of rye<br \/>\nhot corn bread and apple streusel<br \/>\nfresh whipped cream and apple pie.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Grace Before Wine<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nI am blessed to swallow grape fluids<br \/>\nevery little drop in bottle or decanter<br \/>\npraising then this red or white enchanter<br \/>\ntill blue in the face like drunken Druids<br \/>\nso great a sweetness flows into the breast<br \/>\nwe must let sorrows and sadness pass<br \/>\nwe are blessed with every single glass<br \/>\nevery drop we drink of it is blessed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joey &#8216;Pepe Batbon&#8217;Connolly (Special to the Saipan Tribune)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Joey aka Pepe Batbon is a retired educator who taught in the CNMI, NOLA, and LVNV.
