Also in photo are, from left, Mabel Glenn, McDonald\u2019s Guam Saipan co-owner Marcia Ayuyu, and Jose Ayuyu Jr.\u00a0(MARK RABAGO)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022 gold medalist Zhimin Jin won the ladies flight after firing the lowest score in the 2nd Annual McDonald\u2019s Golf Classic last Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf &amp; Resort.<\/p>\n<p>The 15-year-old Marianas High School student\u2019s two-over par 74 even bested championship flight winner Sun Ho Kang\u2019s 75, which he shared with two other par-busters.<\/p>\n<p>Jin said her best hole in the fundraiser for the Jose and Ruri Ayuyu Foundation, Inc., Make-A-Wish Foundation, Karidat Social Services, Ronald McDonald House, and the Salvation Army was the par-3 No. 4 hole, which she birdied.<\/p>\n<p>Asked what her strategy was going into the tourney, the teenage golf sensation said it was overcoming mental challenges more than anything else.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just tried to focus on my game today because you know how I\u2019m always paired up with the best players on Saipan so I tried not to get nervous and tried to just focus on my game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jin said weather conditions also didn\u2019t give her much leeway as she literally didn\u2019t only had to fend off the tough ladies field, but the unpredictable wind conditions as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be honest the course wasn\u2019t very good. As you can feel right now the wind was really, really bad. Like the direction was changing every single time. It kind of confused me a little so that was kind of difficult,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Jin added that she\u2019s happy to be joining golf tournaments again after a brief hiatus following the Mini Games to concentrace on her studies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, I haven\u2019t been joining tournaments recently. I also love golf and I love McDonald\u2019s. I want to thank coach (Joe \u2018Kamikaze\u2019 Camacho), my parents, and my family for all their support,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Jin pocketed $500 for winning first place in the ladies flight, while CNMI national women\u2019s coach Yuko Togawa shot a 79 to finish second and won $300. Me Ae Jeon completed the Top 3 with her 82 and collected $200.<\/p>\n<p>In the C flight, Augustine Palacios\u2019 85 was good enough for first place.
