(LEIGH GASES)<br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kamakazee\u2019s has finally reopened on Martin Luther King Jr. day, Monday, Jan. 16, after closing for a couple of months due to renovation\u2014with a revamped and even more delicious menu fit for anyone looking for a great dining experience.<\/p>\n<p>Give your taste buds something different to rave about with Kamakazee\u2019s famous poke nachos\u2014which is a flavorsome combination of wonton chips, tuna poke, spicy crabmeat, edamame, cucumber and carrot slices, bonito flakes, nori, furikake, and mixed with spicy mayo.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_383569\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-383569\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Kamakazee\u2019s-pix-3wb.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Kamakazee\u2019s-pix-3wb.jpg\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-383569\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reeka Cruz, owner of Kamakazee, and her husband, Michael Guerrero, pose in front of a painting of a bird of paradise flower, which is also the letter K\u2019s in their logo of their restaurant, Kamakazee\u2019s.(LEIGH GASES)<br \/><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Along with the poke nachos are other favorites of their diners since officially opening back in September 2021. You can find on the Favorites section of the menu with the poke nachos are the Kamakazee fried rice, bacon carbonara, fish tacos, flavored fries, binadu (deer) dip, and mozzarella sticks.<\/p>\n<p>The menu doesn\u2019t end there as you need not look any further to get your Mediterranean, local, or vegetarian fix than at Kamakazee\u2019s location in Beach Road, Garapan, right across the building of Hot Deals and Lollipops. (LEIGH GASES\/DONNA RIVERA)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>With a whole lot of burgers, salads, bowls, sandwiches\/wraps, and vegetarian options, and also an ever changing lunch special menu, you and your friends will always have something new to try.<\/p>\n<p>Their burger menu includes the smash burger with double smashed patties, bacon cheeseburger, chipotle burger, Kamakazee burger, portobello burger, and the inferno burger.<\/p>\n<p>Their hearty and delicious bowls include poke bowl, Mongolian beef bowl, fajita bowl, shawarma bowl, and spam musubi bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Reeka Cruz, who was lovingly called \u201cKa\u201d by her family and friends growing up, chose the name of her restaurant due to her spontaneous and bold ways during her formative years and just found the name Kamakazee, (in reference to the word kamikaze) to be fitting.<\/p>\n<p>Growing up in a big Filipino-Chamorro household of 12 siblings on Tinian, Cruz loved cooking big meals for her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, the 32-year-old continues her passion for cooking and has made it her life\u2019s work to get her food from her kitchen and into people\u2019s stomachs.<\/p>\n<p>Wife to Michael Guerrero and mother of three of her own\u2014with one on the way\u2014and to three adopted children, along with being a business owner, and a part-time cake decorator at Herman\u2019s Bakery, Cruz was asked how she handles everything, and she said, \u201cI do this because I want to share my livelihood, my interests, my talents, and my passion with everyone else. That\u2019s the main reason why I opened Kamakazee\u2019s because it\u2019s what I love doing. What I love doing makes people happy, so it makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With her family surrounded by food and cooking, she said her children are following their footsteps. Her 13-year-old son sometimes cooks for their family and with that, she said \u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to my kids growing up. They are going to be involved and they\u2019re going to be surrounded by food.
