{"id":38370,"date":"2014-06-10T04:00:41","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T18:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=38370"},"modified":"2014-06-10T04:00:41","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T18:00:41","slug":"600-japanese-students-visit-saipan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/600-japanese-students-visit-saipan\/","title":{"rendered":"600 Japanese students to visit Saipan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Six hundred Japanese students plus 230 staff and personnel will be visiting Saipan to immerse themselves in the history of the island this month.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pacific Eagle Enterprise Inc. president Willie Matsumoto, the students will be arriving aboard a ship that will dock at Charlie Dock in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p>According to Matsumoto, the group is the 41st JC Japanese Youth Goodwill Cruise \u201cTokai-go\u201d and consists of 600 students. They are expected to arrive this Wednesday, June 11.<\/p>\n<p>The 230 staff and personnel will be arriving today, June 10, to prepare for the students upon initial arrival at 11pm. <\/p>\n<p>Matsumoto said the students will be staying on the ship while it is docked at Charlie Dock, while the staff and personnel will be staying at the Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will sail to Saipan for training, carrying youth who are responsible for creating the future of the next generation. The purpose of this visit is to learn the history of Saipan and experience tropical climate and fascinating culture of this beautiful island,\u201d Matsumoto said in an earlier email to Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>The Japan Travel Bureau\u2019s Pacific Micronesian Tour on Saipan and Pacific Eagle will be working closely with the group. <\/p>\n<p>JC Tokai group will also be hosting a party at Fiesta Resort\u2019s beach side.<\/p>\n<p>JC Tokai is a Junior Chamber of Commerce in Tokai district in Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures in Japan. <\/p>\n<p>They have visited Saipan three times ranging from 500 to 600 students in 2000, 2007, and 2010.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that they have a wonderful experience, make a bond of friendship and goodwill between Japan and CNMI even if they stay a limited time.
